Spännande sista seriematch!

Inför Erikslundsherrarnas sista seriematch för säsongen (25/9 kl 12:00) i rugbyns division 1 träffade vi huvudtränare Andy Stewart för att höra lite om tankarna inför matchen och om läget i laget.

"Obviously we are excited about the upcoming game versus Exiles RFC. They are one of the most decorated clubs in Swedish rugby, and in the last 10 years have been the premier club, both in the Allsvenskan and Divsion 1 North. I can imagine that a vast majority of the Exiles players involved in tomorrow's game will have some type of championship winning experience, and it is this mentality that Erikslund seniors will have to overcome to be successful.

However we are fully focused on our own performance, moving the Erikslund story forward, and creating our own history. With respect to Exiles, tomorrow game is just one of many steps along the way, in creating the next part of Erikslund rugby story.

We can take a lot of confidence from what we have achieved so far this year and have trained well for this opportunity, to both test our progress and the skillsets we have developed. Then we see where that takes us a against a mature Division 1 team like Exiles.The squad have responded well to every challenge so far, with this weeks challenge; to be able to practice 15 V 15. So when 34 players turned up for training on Wednesday including 5 of the P18 (recent winners of the gold in USM) you can see we are heading in the right direction.The positive energy the team are creating for themselves, the camaraderie and determination is a testament to this young team's ambitions, and should hold us in good stead, when the pressure comes on.

The reward for a positive performance, the chance for us to play for the Divisional 1 championship next weekend, and a win would give us a home game and our supporters that chance to cheer us on in Täby. This I know the team will really appreciate, so they are keen to make happen.
